Kylie Minogue - Back and Better Than Ever - The Abbey Road Sessions

I have absolutely loved Kylie Minogue ever since...well...ever since I first heard "Locomotion".  Since then, I have been a loyal fan and follower of hers.

Her newest Album, The Abbey Road Sessions features sixteen tracks, all radically reworked, spanning Kylie’s incredible twenty-five-year career. It was recorded in London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios with Kylie’s band and a full orchestra. The album features many of Kylie’s best-known hits and previously unreleased tracks. Over all sixteen tracks, one thing becomes very clear—stripped of her high-end pop production, the emotional resonance of Kylie’s songs has never been clearer, and her voice has never sounded better.

This album is not a high energy, get-ready-for-a-dance-party cd.  These remixed songs are slower, more subdued and absolutely beautiful.  Her voice shines throughout the songs and the orchestra supporting her is outstanding.  Listening to the album, it feels like you at a small intimate venue attending an acoustic concert where she is singing only to you and a few select others.  I enjoyed most of the remixed songs including "The Locomotion" and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", however the main song that stood out to me was "Flower".  Her voice on that track was so radiant. She had so much passion while singing.  It is a stunning song sang with such beauty and grace (both vocally and it's meaning).  "Flower", is a song she wrote several years ago following her battle with breast cancer to the child she wishes she might one day still have.

A few years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and in true Kylie fashion, she beat it!  She is a breast cancer survivor and an inspiration to so many.  She not only donates her time to the American Cancer Society, but to amFAR for AIDS research also.

If you watch Dancing With The Stars (or don't, but love Kylie), you will want to tune in on November 13th to catch her perform "The Locomotion".  She will also be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 14th.
