I am so stinkin' excited. Sesame Street Live - Let's Party is coming to San Jose!!! The last time we went to a Sesame Street show, my son was about 2.5 or 3 years old. I remember he had a BLAST. It was so much fun to see his face light up as he saw all of his loved characters from t.v. in real life. Fast forward a few years, my son is not an only child anymore! In fact, he is a big brother to his little sister who is 4 years old. They play, they fight, they love, they scream. It's always something as I'm sure anyone with kids can relate.
Right now, my daughter is asking every.5.minutes "How many days until Christmas?". We have an advent calendar that we use to count down the days, but she loves asking anyways. What the kids don't know, is that we have a surprise trip to Universal Studios planned for them. We are leaving...drumroll please...tomorrow! And they still have no clue. I am not good at keeping fun surprises or secrets, so I'm amazed at myself for being able to keep it from them. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep it since at some point we will need to pack, but even if they find out today, I think they'll be super excited that we'll be leaving for the trip the next day and they don't have to wait and keep asking in how many days are we leaving!
Once we get back, they will have one more week of school before winter break!!! There will be lots to celebrate as it is grandpa's (my dad's) birthday, my birthday (Christmas Day) and of course, CHRISTMAS!
Which reminds me -- over the weekend, we were at the mall and my daughter desperately wanted to see Santa. The line was about a 2 hour wait and I was not about to stand in line for that, so I told her we would come back on Monday after school. My little love bug did not forget and kept reminding me, so after school, we picked up the kiddos and headed straight for Santa. Now let me tell you, while I love Santa himself, we have never, had a good experience at this mall. Last year, was the first year, EVER, that my daughter decided she wanted to see Santa (previous years we had all the screaming pictures of her), so I really wanted to get her to him. We went on December 23rd and got there an hour before closing time (I specifically checked their website hours). To our dismay, they weren't letting anyone get in line as the people who were already in line would last until closing time. I understand Santa can't be there all night - I mean, he has a big night coming up with delivering presents - but I mean, we got there an hour before close. If they stop letting people in an hour before, they should note that on their website. One of the workers very rudely told me that it isn't her fault that I waited until the last minute to take my kids to see Santa. Awesome Christmas spirit, huh? Any hoooo there were other families who showed up after us wanting to get photos too. I won't say how...but we ended up getting in line and the kids got to get their picture taken with Santa. AND it was a super cute picture too. Anyway, I was worried this year would be some sort of disaster too...I was holding my breath all the way there. In fact, when we got there and there was no line, I thought they were closed...but it just happened to be there was no line! So, it turned out to be a huge success and happy memory too!
